Project Overview

Canmar is leading the first phase of a major exterior envelope restoration at a high-rise residential building in Toronto. With a focus on mitigating water penetration and improving the building’s insulation value, the project combines structural repairs with an EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish System) upgrade to deliver long-term performance gains.

Our Work Included

01

Structural steel welding and exterior wall remediation

02

EIFS installation for improved thermal performance

03

Access solutions using elevated platforms

04

Phased work coordination to minimize disruption

Challenges and Outcomes

This multi-phase building envelope restoration is underway at a fully occupied residential high-rise. With tenant comfort and safety as priorities, Canmar is working closely with consultants and building management to coordinate access and maintain efficiency across trades.

Crews have accelerated scaffold setup using elevated work platforms to maintain schedule momentum. Structural steel welding, EIFS installation, and exterior wall remediation are progressing in parallel, with work performed from the building exterior to limit disruption to residents.

Once completed, the restoration will strengthen thermal performance, improve protection against water ingress, and extend the overall service life of the façade.
